Inconel 718 - Nickel Chromium Alloy
The super family of nickel chromium alloys was initially developed for use in the Whittle jet engine due to their high temperature resistance.
Inconel 718 is part of this metal alloy set and has been found to be useful for other properties obtained by the unique structure of the combination of molybdenum and columbium with the on the nickel-chromium matrix. This amalgamation results in not only high temperature applications but also makes it highly corrosion resistant.
Inconel 718 can be used for hot extrusion tooling and parts such as rings, high-strength bolts, casings and instrumentation components.
